SCRIM
Holland, 1976, 67 minutes, Colour.
Geraldine Chaplin, Bruce Gray.
Directed by Jacob Bijl.
Scrim is a short Dutch film - a short story analysing the interaction of characters. It is distinguished by a fine performance from Geraldine Chaplin. Geraldine Chaplin made her mark in Doctor Zhivago but from the mid-70s, especially under the direction of Robert Altman in Nashville and other films, she established herself as an excellent comedienne and a serious actress. Her films with her husband Carlos Saura have also been striking. This is an interesting example of work from the Dutch film industry in the mid-'70s.
