Douglas Campbell has written and directed a number of films which have “Stalked in the title. This film is a sequel to his Stalked by my Doctor with Eric Roberts reprising his role. In the first film, Roberts plays a doctor who is infatuated by young girls, goes into rages when he is spurned by women, became so infatuated with the girl that he had operated on successfully after a car accident that he had abducted the girl, fabricating her death, but having to escape to Mexico when he is discovered.
This film is a reworking of many elements of the original film, beginning with Roberts under another name, pretending to be a charity doctor in Mexico, a paediatrician, approaching women at hotels, boasting of his wealth, the photo of his mansion and a large yacht on his phone. Once more, he is rejected, continues his raging, but also has Skype contacts with a counsellor.
Once again, he saves the life of a young woman, this time from the surf. Her mother is most grateful. So is the girl, having great trust in the doctor who saved her life. However, she has a boyfriend which angers the doctor.
His plan is to flirt with the mother so that he has easy access to the daughter, especially giving her tutorials as she wants to study medicine. The daughter becomes suspicious, despite her gratitude, when he talks about sexuality and makes advances. In the meantime, encouraged by her daughter, the mother who was a widow still grieving her husband’s death does respond to the doctor, who is helping her over her phobias, going out, and then proposing.
In the meantime, the FBI is looking for him because of the previous crime.
He interferes with the young woman’s relationship, insinuating things to her boyfriend, fabricating a blood test to indicate that she has herpes which she caught from the boyfriend. She believes the doctor and cuts off the boyfriend – later he has his own test, is able to prove that her test was a fabrication.
There is a wedding, to the young woman’s disapproval and trying to persuade her mother that it is unsuitable. She even contacts her uncle, a hippie music type from Los Angeles, who visits, is impressed by the doctor and his talk about music but unwittingly traps him about information proving his talk is untrue – and he is killed by the doctor in a fight and his body dissolved by acid.
Fortunately, the daughter finds out something of the truth as her mother is driving to the honeymoon, gets into her car to save her mother who is blindfolded by the doctor, as a treat, but he stands her on a ledge to push her over. The mother clings to the railing and she and her daughter overcome the doctor who is last seen in prison causing a stomach upset to one of the guards and helping her, so that…
