Lecture Series by Father Cyril James Connolly MSC
Cyril Connolly came from Western Queensland and studied at Downlands College. He had one of the most varied of ministries over 50 years in the province. With a degree in theology, he taught at Chevalier and Downlands, taught theology at Croydon monastery and St Paul's Seminary, was Rector of the Minor Seminary, Chanel College outside Rabaul, worked in the mission of Port Keats. From 1987-1992, he was one of the provincial assistants to Jim Littleton.
However, there were two significant events for him in the 1970s: a sabbatical to Rome where he studied Scripture and a visit to Spokane, Washington, where he met Armand Nigro SJ and was introduced to his style of personal prayer which he brought back to Australia, also inviting Armand Nigro to Australia, with prayer institutes at Douglas Park. He returned to Spokane and gave lectures which became his main work, The Human Story of Jesus in the Gospel of John. These lecutres are shown below.
Also on our website under Media and Publications are a series of lectures by John Rate, a link to Michael Fallon's website as well as a section on Peter Malone's work in cinema.
